Wooly Thyme DROUGHT-WISE Thymus praecox Pseudolanuginosus is one of the "oldies but goodies" in the STEPABLES Creeping Perennials collection and included in ourTough Ten Program. Wooly Thyme has beautiful dusty gray foliage with little fuzzy hairs on top. Woolly Thyme is covered with pink flowers in late spring/early summer. This plant is so versatile as a creeping perennial groundcover that it can be used to cover dry slopes, spruce up hanging baskets and containers or spill over a retaining wall. Wooly Thyme works well between stepping stones, around roses, in fairy gardens or as a curbside planting, and is a perfect lawn substitute. This plant needs sharp drainage to succeed. Over watering will impair growth.

Gardening Tips from Fran
Thymus Wooly is the oldest of old standbys making it a solid plant for anyone needing a full sun thyme. Wooly Thyme grows great around stone and softens hard edges to give you that "old world" feel in your landscape. Thymus praecox Psuedolanuginosus makes a retaining wall look like it has it’s own gray pillow! It is most impressive on a slope I think though. I love how it works to make a blanket of gray, then a stunning blanket of pink! Just make sure it has plenty of good drainage and you will love this thyme.
**Many of our plants are listed as Not a Good Fit forKid Traffic/Dog Traffic/Around Pools. These plants will work fine around these spots. However, please keep in mind thatmany people (and animals) have allergies to bees or fragrances.
