Sceleranthus uniflorus Gnarled Cushion

SCELERANTHUS UNIFLORUS GNARLED CUSHION

Sceleranthus uniflorus
Gnarled Cushion  DROUGHT-WISE
Tons of tiny, light green stars form an exceedingly tight mound of green. Its armor-like quality sets it apart from Irish Moss. The cream colored flowers form a ball on top, but are mostly inconspicuous. Quite a unique selection. Sharp drainage is a must.

Tips from Fran
Sceleranthus uniflorus is quite a unique plant. I really like how it moguls up like little green ski slopes. For those of you needing a sun moss, this one will work well as long as you give it good draining soil. A gravel base works nicely, but I have it in clay soil on a slight incline and that works as well.
